Have you ever seen the Matrix Revolutions? It’s the third of the Matrix films and in this movie, the Wachowski brothers go to great lengths to upgrade the symbolism of Neo as a Christ-like figure. The symbolism is everywhere. His actions, his interactions with the characters, his death in a cross-like fashion, to the implication of his resurrection / second coming at the end of the film. It’s in your face, blatantly obvious symbolism as you watch the film. No question what the Wachowski brothers were getting at when they made this film.
When I read Isaiah, I feel the same way. The more I read through Isaiah, the more it appears obvious all the prophesies are about Christ. Isaiah 7:14, Isaiah 11:10, Isaiah 42:1-6…read them and tell me they are not about Christ. The more you read, the more you see Christ throughout. Much like the Matrix Revolutions, the obviousness of Christ’s presence seems to smack you right in the face.
Christ is ever present in the Bible. It is not always easy to see His presence, but He is always there. Sometimes, it is straight forward and ridiculously obvious – like in Isaiah, other times it is not. Life is that way as well. At times, the Lord is obviously present while at others Christ’s presence is difficult to see in our lives. Either way, the Lord is always with us.
As always, I ask that you continue to join me in reading through the Bible. I will continue to throw in some comments as I read through and I hope you join me / let me know your thoughts.
